A Case Drain Is Required
Every Vortex model requires a case drain line. Running a high-torque hydraulic motor without one builds back-pressure on the shaft seal and will destroy the motor. Case drain and coupler specifications are matched to your machine at order time — contact Skid Steer Store with your make and model and we will confirm both before your order ships. If your machine has no case drain port, tell us before ordering.

Yes, on every model without exception. Running without one builds back-pressure on the motor's shaft seal and causes failure.
Can I run the Vortex on an excavator?
