Description
Virnig's Forged Hay Spears are a versatile skid-steer attachment designed to handle both round and large square hay bales with precision. Built with forged spears, tapering to ease penetration, and purpose-built stabilizers, they deliver secure lifts and streamlined bale handling for farm operations.
- Five model configurations: Choose from BSV48F, BFV48F, CBV48F, SSV48F, or BASS66F to match bale type and handling needs, with varying numbers of forged main spears and stabilizers to optimize balance and grip.
- Forged main spears: Conus II forged main spears with a removable design for maintenance and replacement. usable lengths vary by model (up to 43.4" on some models; 26.6" on others) and a consistent 1.75" thickness for strength.
- Stabilizers from 1045 CFSR stock: Stabilizers are machined from 1045 Cold Finished Stress Relieved round stock for durability and long life (included on specific models with the stabilizers: two on BSV48F and three on CBV48F).
- Universal skid-steer mount: Engineered to fit most skid steer loaders, enabling quick attachment changes and broad compatibility across machines.
- Capacity and frame dimensions: Rated to 2000 lbs ROC with the bale pressed against the frame; frame widths are 45.5" for most models and 66.5" for the wider BASS66F; weights range from 205 to 260 lbs depending on the model.
- Removable spears for maintenance: Spear assemblies are designed to be removed for sharpening or replacement, reducing downtime and extending service life.
This family of forged hay spears offers precise bale handling across common farm scenarios: piercing compacted bales with tapered, forged tips; securely lifting round and large square bales; and adapting to different bale shapes with the right combination of main spears and stabilizers. The 2000 lb ROC rating helps keep loads stable during transport, and the universal mount minimizes downtime when servicing multiple machines. Whether you’re loading hay into storage, moving bales to feeders, or organizing field stacks, these spears provide reliable performance built to last.
