Eterra Razor Sickle Bar Mower for Skid Steer
The Eterra Razor sickle bar mower mounts directly to a skid steer or compact track loader — no boom arm, no excavator required. Available in 7 ft. and 9 ft. cutting widths, it shears vegetation between opposing blades instead of beating it, which means clean cuts, minimal thrown debris and low hydraulic draw. Rated for 15–20 GPM at 3,000 PSI. Available from Skid Steer Store.
Direct-Mount, No Boom Needed
- Mounts straight to your quick-attach plate — no Raptor boom arm or excavator in the equation.
- Almost no thrown material — shearing drops cuttings in place, safe near traffic, glass and livestock.
- Wide cut, modest flow — 7 or 9 ft. of coverage on standard-flow hydraulics.
- Clean shear, healthier regrowth — sheared stems recover better than shredded ones.
- Quiet — noticeably less noise than rotary or flail cutting.
- Handles wet and aquatic growth — reeds and cattails that would clog a flail.
7 Ft. vs. 9 Ft.
| Width | Best For | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| 7 Foot | Mixed work with obstacles, posts and culverts | More maneuverable, lighter at reach |
| 9 Foot | Long open runs where acres per hour matter | Fastest coverage, more leverage on the machine |
Specifications
| Specification | Razor Sickle Bar |
|---|---|
| Cutting Widths | 7 ft., 9 ft. |
| Cutting Capacity | Vegetation under 2" diameter |
| Flow Rate | 15–20 GPM |
| Pressure Rating | 3,000 PSI |
| Carrier | Skid steer / compact track loader |
| Electrical Connector | Required |
Your machine can exceed 20 GPM, but the mower will not run at full RPM above that range.
Electrical Connector Required
Skid steer sickle bar models require an electrical connector matched to your loader's auxiliary port — standard, Bobcat 7-pin, 8-pin or 14-pin. See our Eterra Electrical Connectors listing. Excavator models do not need one. Without the correct connector the mower mounts and the hydraulics run, but the electric function will not operate.
Which Eterra Sickle Bar Is Right for You
| Model | Carrier | Widths |
|---|---|---|
| Razor Sickle Bar | Skid steer / CTL — direct mount | 7 ft., 9 ft. |
| Mini Sickle Bar | Mini skid steer | 5 ft. |
| Excavator Sickle Bar | Excavator | 5 ft., 7 ft., 9 ft. |
| Raptor Mower Heads | Eterra Raptor Boom Arm | 5 ft., 7 ft., 9 ft. |
Direct-mount gives you the widest cut at the lowest cost. Choose a Raptor boom head or excavator model instead when you need to reach over ditches, banks and guardrail rather than drive alongside them.
Common Applications
Pasture and hayfield edges, long fence lines, roadside shoulders reachable by machine, drainage swales, pond banks, orchard and vineyard rows, solar farm and airport perimeters, and large-property maintenance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a boom arm for this?
No. The Razor mounts directly to your skid steer's quick-attach plate. Boom arms are only needed when you must reach over an obstacle rather than drive beside it.
What hydraulic flow do I need?
15 to 20 GPM at 3,000 PSI. Machines can exceed 20 GPM but the mower will not reach full RPM.
Do I need an electrical connector?
Yes. All skid steer sickle bar models require one matched to your machine's auxiliary electrical port.
7 foot or 9 foot?
Take the 9 ft. for long open runs where coverage is the priority. Take the 7 ft. for ground with posts, culverts and trees to work around.
What will it cut?
Grass, weeds, reeds and brush under 2" in diameter. For heavier material, look at the Cyclone rotary cutter.
