PLANETARY DRIVE

Power comes from the Splinter’s hydraulically-driven planetary drive, delivering up to 3,800 ft/lbs of torque.

NO 12V ELECTRIC REQUIRED

With no extra electrical cables, connection is quick and easy.

No 12V Electric Required

MAIN SHAFT SEAL PROTECTION

The Splinter’s flange protects the main shaft seal to prevent damage to the Splinter’s bearings from possible debris.

Main Shaft Seal Protection

NO FLYING CHIPS

Because the Splinter operates at a low RPM, chips are contained during operation with very little mess to clean up.

No Flying Chips

IDEAL FOR URBAN AREAS

The planer is ideal for urban areas and confined spaces where keeping chips contained is critical.

Ideal For Urban areas

LARGER CHIPS

With less power required to produce fine material, larger stumps can be ground faster with small carriers, creating mulch for other small trees.

Larger Chips

HARDENED REPLACEABLE TIP

The Splinter’s entry tip if hardened for extra-long wear and replaceable for a longer life.

Hardened Replaceable Tip

Heavy Duty Sharpenable Blades

The smaller leading blade is made from AR500 steel and the larger clean up blade is made with AR400 steel. All cutting blades can be sharpened, lowering costs by not replacing blades as often.

Heavy Duty Sharpenable Blades

INTERNAL HOSE ROUTING

All of the hydraulic hoses on the Splinter are routed internally where possible and sleeved for operator and hose protection while the connecting hoses are sleeved and wrapped in hose armor for double protection. The Splinter features travelling hose support and a greaseable pin on the hose support.

Internal Hose Routing

ANTI-SLIP MAT FOR EASY ACCESS TO CAB

For ease of entry and exit from the cab an anti-slip strip gives sure footing.

EASY TO CHANGE BITS

Easily change from splitting to grinding.

Auger Attachment

Pengo’s patented 40/50 dual angle bolt on cutting can be flipped from a 40 degree cut angle to a 50 degree cut angle for a more aggressive cut in clay and hard pack dirt. Aggressor augers also come standard with our Tri-Flow Pilot bit. The three cutting blades make it easier to start a hole and keep the bit straighter

Auger Attachment

Log Splitter Attachment

Baumalight’s log splitter tool can split pieces of wood and logs up to 12 feet or even 20 ft long. The bit’s bite comes from machining two helical spirals machined into two pieces of steel. The two spirals join at the hardened tip for easy boring into the log.

HOW  IT WORKS:

Proper operation

How it Works Step 1

Step 1

When positioning the planer on a stump that is larger than the larger blade diameter, it is important to begin cutting from one side rather than the center. Shear down using the smaller leading blades until your cut is complete.

How it Works Step 2

Step 2

After your first cut is finished, start a new cut on the other side of the stump still using the smaller leading blades to make the cut.

How it Works Step 3

Step 3

Continue to move around the perimeter of the stump making more cuts. Do this until there are no outer ridges left on the stump.

How it Works Step 4

Step 4

Once the center area is smaller than the diameter of the larger blades, a final center cut is made using the larger cleanup blades to finish the job.

CAUTION

When using the planer on a larger stump, if you begin cutting directly in the center of the stump, you will bore a center hole, leaving a ridge around the outer edge of the stump. If you do this, it will be difficult to properly cut the outer edges, instead you will just break off small chunks.
