Eterra Hex Auger Adapter for Skid Steer
Eterra hex auger adapters let you run bits and drives that do not share a shaft standard. Eterra drives output 2" hex, but plenty of bits on the market use 2" round or 2-9/16" round — and an adapter is far cheaper than replacing a set of bits. Built to the same standard as Eterra auger drives. Available from Skid Steer Store.

Read the name as drive side first, bit side second. The female end goes onto your drive shaft; the male end accepts your bit.
Which Way Round?
If you own an Eterra drive (2" hex output) and bits from another manufacturer, you need a 2" Hex Female adapter. If you own another manufacturer's drive and want to run Eterra 2" hex bits, you need an adapter ending in 2" Hex Male. Getting this backwards is the most common ordering mistake — if in doubt, send us both shaft measurements.
What to Measure
- Drive output shaft — hex or round, and its across-flats or diameter measurement.
- Bit collar — hex or round, and its internal measurement.
- Pin holes — confirm the pin size matches on both ends.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which adapter do I need?
Identify your drive's output shaft and your bit's collar, then pick the adapter that goes from the first to the second. Drive side is named first.
Does an adapter reduce torque?
It adds a connection and a small amount of length, which slightly increases leverage on the output shaft. In normal drilling this is not a practical concern.
Can I use an adapter with an extension?
Yes, though keep the stack as short as the job allows to limit leverage on the drive.
What if my shaft is not one of these five?
Contact Skid Steer Store with measurements of both ends. These five cover the common combinations but not every shaft on the market.
