Eterra 7 Ft. Sickle Bar Mower Head for Raptor Boom Arm
The 7 ft. sickle bar mower head is the middle option for the Eterra Raptor Boom Arm — two extra feet of cut over the 5 ft. head without the leverage penalty of the 9 ft. For most roadside and ditch contractors this is the length that gets picked, because it covers ground quickly while still being manageable at full boom extension. Available from Skid Steer Store.
Why a Sickle Bar Instead of a Flail or Rotary
- Almost no thrown material — cuttings drop where they fall, which matters near traffic, glass and livestock.
- Low power draw — a 7 ft. swath on modest hydraulic flow.
- Clean shear, healthier regrowth — sheared stems recover better than shredded ones.
- Quiet — considerably less noise than rotary or flail cutting.
- Cuts wet and aquatic growth — reeds, cattails and shoreline vegetation that would clog a flail.

On open runs, yes — 40% more cut per pass adds up over a long shift. On tight, obstacle-heavy ground the 5 ft. is easier to place.
Can I run this without a Raptor Boom Arm?
No. It is built exclusively for the Raptor.
What will it cut?
Grass, weeds, reeds and brush up to about 2" in diameter.
Can I switch heads on my Raptor later?
Yes. The Raptor accepts 5, 7 and 9 ft. sickle bars, the Sidewinder flail and the Cyclone rotary cutter.
